'Twas the night before Christmas, and all was well
Except in this little town, where fewer folk liked to dwell
These people were of various kinds, and TBH they were swell
But the beast in the woods, kinda scary
Spring, Fall, Summer, the folk will be a plenty
Come winter however, and the party goes home
The windows all shut, and the streets lay bare
The noise grows louder in the woods just right over there
"Hush," say the mothers, "Or the beast will hear you."
"They have big scary claws, razor sharp ears
and love little children"
It wasn't a beast, nor were there many
Just one fella there, who can't go to places many
Once feared by entire races, now barely even heard of
Ol' Krampus collects where he is still known
Now you folks must have heard this tale once before,
A passing remark or a tale by the fire
But no one can deny their fear of Krampus
Don't bother lying, he knows your heart
He's the one leaving you gifts tonight
Beware the Krampus, he'll steal you away
Maybe the Ruten in your house serve well as a reminder
Keep out of trouble, and look twice before moving
A pile of coal is all that will remain if you don't stay nice.
